Thank you for your interest in joining the Bingham Internal Medicine Residency!

 

The Bingham Internal Medicine Residency (BIMR) is accredited through ACGME and will be accepting both DO and MD candidates for the 2020-2021 academic year.  Applications for interviews should only be submitted through ERAS; applications faxed or emailed will not be reviewed. 

 

Within the ERAS system, please ensure all information has been properly released for program viewing, incomplete applications will not be considered.  Applicants are selected on the basis of academic performance and personal qualifications regardless of race, sex, color, religion or national origin.

 

Interview dates for the 2019-2020 are:

Monday, October 21st, 2019

Monday, November 4th, 2019

Monday, December 2nd, 2019

 

BIMR requirements for applicants are as follows:

  • COMLEX 1, score must be at least 450 or above on first attempt

  • COMLEX 2, score must be at least 450 or above on first attempt

  • COMLEX PE, pass on first attempt

       or

  • USMLE Step 1, score must be at least 215 or above on first attempt

  • USMLE Step 2, score must be at least 215 or above on first attempt

  • USMLE Clinical Skills, pass on first attempt

    *All scores from applicants must be received by BIMR on February 1st, 2019 to be considered for ranking

BIMR requirements for international (IMG) applicants are as follows:

  • USMLE Step 1, score must be at least 215 or above on first attempt

  • USMLE Step 2, score must be at least 215 or above on first attempt

  • USMLE Clinical Skills, pass on first attempt

  • Graduation from a State of Idaho Board of Medicine approved medical school within the past 3 years (please check with the Board of Medicine (https://bom.idaho.gov/bomportal/home.aspx) for their exclusion list)

  • Successful passage of a standardized English Language Competency Test such as TEOFL

  • Due to limited resources at our institution, BMH does not sponsor J1 or H1B visas for Residency applicants

Auditions

Update July 28th, 2019: 

We have now filled all of our available audition spots. 

Please check back in the Fall for any potential openings.

1. Students should download and complete the Audition Rotation Request Form (Click Here for Form). The request form should be completed in its entirety. Request forms not fully completed will not be accepted.

2. The completed Audition Rotation Request Form, current CV and copy of a background check should be submitted to the GME Department via email to Joanne Smith jpsmith@binghammemorial.org. Once all documents have been received, requests will be reviewed by the Program Director and GME Department. This process can take between one and two weeks.

3. If approved, the GME Department will email the student informing them of the approval and request additional documentation to finalize the rotation.

​ - The student will then be responsible for submitting the required documentation listed in the email.

 - The student will have 30 days to submit documentation or the rotation will be canceled and opened up to other students.

 - Once all documentation is received, a final confirmation will be sent to the student.

 

4. Once rotation slots are filled, interested students will be placed on a waitlist. Waitlist scheduling will be done on a first-come, first-serve basis.
